Tata Motors launched a new Punch EV in India with the price range from Rs. 10.99 lakh to 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Looking at the Tata’s new EV ‘Acti.ev’ architecture, the new Punch EV will be the fourth EV in the sales list in India after the EV version of Nexon, Tiago, and Tigor. It is said that the Punch will be available in five terms like Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+ and also two range options, the Standard and Long Range.
Let’s talk about the design, it comes in common with the standard Punch, and it also has a few differences from the regular one, which makes the Punch EV apart. Which include the slim, full width LED DRLs, mainly a charging port situated behind the Tata logo and all new 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, which makes it look outstanding. The interior is far more different from the ICE model and we can say it is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 10.25-inch full digital instrument console.
The Punch EV has many features like ventilated front seats, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, cornering fog lamps, auto-folding wing mirrors, not just these, electric sunroof, wireless phone charging and 360-degree cameras. Looking at the safety features Punch Ev gets six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme(ESP) as standard, at last a blind spot monitor on the top spec variants.
The Punch just don’t get the ventilated leatherette seats, but also many features like mood lights, Air purifiers with AQI display, Paddle shifters, which help in enabling 4 level multi mode regeneration and last this gets sofeatre upgrade capabilities.
Looking at the powertrain one, the Long Range variant will offer us a 90KW motor with a torque of 190nm. It will also have a battery capacity of 35kWh and an ARAI range of 421 km. The regular one has around 25 KWH battery, it has a range of 315 km, along with a 69 KW motor and 114 NM of torque Output.
