Jaguar Land Rover Introduces 2020 Jaguar F-Type Facelift in India

Jaguar Land Rover has discreetly launched the 2020 Jaguar F-Type facelift in India, with prices ranging from Rs. 95.12 lakh to Rs. 2.41 crore (ex-showroom, India). Available in both coupe and convertible body styles, the sports car is offered in nine variants, including six coupe options and three convertible trims. Initially unveiled in December 2019, the F-Type has made its way to India in under five months since its global debut. It competes with the Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster in the Indian market.

Powertrain and Performance The Jaguar F-Type is powered by a choice of engines, including a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol (P300) and a 5.0-litre V8 available in two performance tunes (P450 and P575). The 1997 cc engine delivers 296 bhp at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm between 1500-4500 rpm. Paired with an automatic transmission that channels power to the rear wheels, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 kmph.

The P450 powertrain, offered in the 5.0 Coupe R-Dynamic and 5.0 Coupe First Edition variants, produces 444 bhp at 6,000 rpm with a peak torque of 580 Nm between 2,500-5,000 rpm. This engine is mated to an automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels, enabling a 0-100 kmph sprint in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 285 kmph. The high-performance P575 variant generates 567 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque between 3,500-5,000 rpm. Equipped with an automatic transmission, it delivers power to all four wheels, achieving 0-100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 300 kmph.

Design and Features The facelifted Jaguar F-Type showcases a refined design, with the most significant updates visible on the front fascia. It features a larger single-frame grille flanked by sleek pixel LED headlights, a redesigned clam-shell bonnet, and revised front and rear bumpers with larger air intakes. The signature J-shaped LED taillights continue to enhance the sports car’s distinctive appeal.

Inside, the cabin receives subtle updates, including Ebony Windsor leather performance seats and an Ebony interior. The facelift introduces a new digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen infotainment system running the InControl Touch Pro interface, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The overall material quality has been enhanced, contributing to a more premium feel. Additional features include 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium cabin lighting, and a switchable active exhaust system.
